On 2nd February 2024, the Reserve had dried out enough after recent floods for all the rides to be open again.

After recent flooding, the Reserve has partially reopened. There is access to the Pond and Riverside Hides, but not beyond the Riverside Hide because there is lots of standing water and mud further up the ride. Please don’t go beyond

A small group of volunteers had good weather on Saturday 16th December for the Muck-In Morning. One team worked on cutting back and raking the growth like brambles, plus some coppicing along parts of the ride as per the 4
Muck-In Morning 18th November 2023
On 18th November 2023 a handful of volunteers came to the Muck-In Morning. They were tasked with planting the new fenland area on Pennycroft. Luckily the rain stopped, but it was a bit of a muddy job.

After the Reserve closure yesterday due to flooding and fallen trees, the level of the river has now dropped and High Batts is open once again. Some areas of the rides are very muddy, so please take extra care.
